ARCHITECTURAL MODEL 7

Size: 6" x 6" x 3"

Materials: corrugated cardboard, chipboard, balsa wood

Inspired by Japanese architecture, I wanted to try out two specific architectural experiments:

1. Siding with uniquely designed joints

2. A circular window spanning two floors

I imagine this is a house, tea parlor, or community meeting place.

I broke tradition on this model, using computer modeling in Rhino and laser-cutting to achieve a higher level of detail, particularly with the siding and joints, making it the first of my architectural models to not be designed and constructed entirely by hand and without the aid of a computer.
